I met up with Richie (@ratchetdaytree) and Junior (@juniorsgram) at around 12am a few weeks ago at Atlantic Salt to talk and get some shots of their rigs. These guys have to get there this early and wait on the line that is already long, just to make 3 loads in the day. Both Junior and Richie's trucks are great looking rigs, and I never get to see them since they mainly do work in Long Island, so them hauling 15 minutes where I live, is definitely cool to see!

On this past Saturday my brother and I were out and on our way home we thought we might as well pass and see if any trucks were hauling salt, and though we only seen 3 trucks, they were for sure worth passing by. First we seen All Season's Freightliner and then FMB's white Pete 389 and his pride and joy, his W900 that not only looks the part but also has 'alittle bit' of power upgrades. The truck is somewhere in the area of 900hp. We went over the Verrazano bridge to get some shots but couldn't manage to get beside them to get pictures, but hearing the jake brake go for half of the bridge and the spooling sound from this W900 was worth the toll haha. Though it may seem as I just upload the pictures that I took straight from my camera here, but taking the photos is the easy part. I take tons of pictures and look through each one in my editing program, and when I find the good shots, then it is time for editing. It could take me 5 minutes to edit one shot or it could take me 30+ minutes just to work on one picture, and not because there is something wrong with it or anything like that, but rather just to enhance it. I don't like to make the pictures unnatural looking, and photoshop anything and everything I could, I like to keep them looking as natural as possible, but at the same time, make them look good. This photo here is of Vinny Avanti's beautiful W900 that was parked along Richmond Terrace hauling salt in February 2014. The top picture is obviously the before shot, straight off the camera, and the bottom is the edited. I did not photoshop anything out/in except the front plate on the truck. I think the edited picture came out pretty good, it was shot through a car window so the the sharpness and the highlights aren't the best, even as I tried to correct them.
As I was leaving to go to the city yesterday, we were merging onto the service rd to get onto the highway. I seen FMB Trucking's new orange W900 at the corner of my eye at the light way down the road, and luckily I got this shot of it. It was pulled next to a local KW T800 wrecker..This may look like an ordinary KW dumptruck, but it is definitely not! This truck is packing alittle extra power under its hood, has a Cummins ISX ~800hp and ~2000 ft/lb of torque!! This truck moves. My brother caught it too yesterday in the same spot, must be delivering dirt or rock to a job, and he said it sounded 'crazy loud, even when he just took off from the light'. Always loved this truck even before the engine upgrades! I want to catch this truck driving so I can get a video for you guys! |
